Accepting parcels for forwarding involves liability risks. Freight forwarder’s liability protects you as a business owner against claims for compensation under the contract of carriage. The coverage includes loss of and damage to the goods in transit. Freight forwarder’s liability insurance also covers financial loss. Freight forwarder’s liability insurance includes legal claims for compensation under the German Commercial Code (HGB) and the German Road Haulage Act (GüKG (road haulage in Germany)) as well as the CMR (Convention on the Contract for the International Carriage of Goods by Road). Several cover extensions, including a corridor solution for 2-40 Special Drawing Rights and higher parcel liability of €520 for our service partner, have also been added to your Premium insurance package. The general excess is €150.00 per claim.
